In case you missed the comments,

Embarrassing moments:

Duhaime said...How about my jump in the air protest to 3 fouls in a row? I wanted to kick that ref in the head.

Jamie said...One of my worst memories was late in a game playing against Stowe in Stowe which was almost a home town for Jeff and me. I believe we were down by 2 points with the clock winding down. I had a good look at a 3 but saw this kid Axel (a tall goofy kid but a good shot blocker) jumping out at me. I pumped faked and proceeded to dribble closer to take a shot except that I ended up dribbling the ball off my foot. Stowe recovered - ball game. Another embarrassing moment was during a playoff game my senior year. I stole the ball and went down the court for a wide open layup...and I missed the layup. PATHETIC, but probably well deserved after all my preaching and complaining to you all about how there's NO excuse to miss a layup.

Jeff said...I missed so many lay-ups in high school. I would've had 500 points if I would've made 'em all. Actually I think I scored over 500 pts; but couldn't tell you how many. My worst game I was 1 for 16 from the field. Still remember it; but couldn't tell you who we were playing. We lost though. I was o for 5 from three. But I did make my final fg attempt. I was a streaky player and about to break out but the clock stopped ...

There seems to be a whole lot of perspective from a lot of "old guys" and not so much from any less than old guys. so here's my attempt:

I remember Jamie scoring his 1000 pt....i think i may have been in 2nd or 3rd grade :)

I remember my first varsity basket ever...a "pull up" jumper from the free throw line against Claremont @ Memorial Aud. I remember feeling like there was an earthquake after it went in b/c the place erupted...probably in disbelief. the next play down the court, Jason Smith drove and then passed it to me and i drained a 3....

I remember going through the humiliation of losing to Websterville 94-26...I was a sophomore and we started me and 4 freshman against Eric Enright (sp?) who was a senior every year.

I remember going to the Hartford Tournament in 8th grade and having to do the book for the championship game...which is when Ryan stole the ball with us down by 1 or 2 and then called a timeout with none left (sorry ry...couldn't leave that one out).

I remember losing to Union Baptist after Andy Roy inexplicably fouled on a 3 point attempt at the buzzer with us up by 2...the guy made all 3 free throws for the win. I think I scored 25 in a losing effort.

I remember Tim Frizzell being close-lined on a drive down the baseline by a guy from Calvary in Plymouth and there was no call.

I remember telling Scott Guiel always telling me to shoot within my range....and I would tell him that one day I would break his record for 3 pters in a season....I'm still working on that one

One more...

I remember Coach Helder and Nathan Pinkham going through the drive thru at McDonalds while the rest of us stood in line

there are so many more great memories of Trinity sports...that's a start at least
