when Jamie kind of dunked vs. Claremont. He had 44 pts. one game in that tournament. He also had like 11 blocks vs. one player. What was that kid's name? Not the one that shot 3's like candy over our sorry zone defense ...
Stephen Shankle had 12 or 13 pts. one game in the Claremont tournament.
Mike Shankle's turnaround "jumper" from straight on.
Jeff Wallace shooting three's the 1st year VT high school had the line.
...
playing Austine and Matt telling Jon S., I think, to go back door.
when I came home from college and watched Buzeman miss a dunk, get a steal on the ensuing play and make a lay-up.
throwing a no look pass to the ref.; wait, that was college ... Bible college, in Canada. Ah, who cares, it still counts when I tell people I played collegiate athletics ...
holding hands on the bus ... oops, is this censored???

Hey everyone! Since Jeff has chosen to live in the past teh past couple weeks, I've decided to take walk down memory lane and visit him for a little while. So here are a few of my memories that flood back when I think of Trinity Hoops. Some are good and some not so memorable.
- I remember the polyester shorts from the 80's, that we had to wear in the 90's. The first thing I bought was a pair of spandex to wear underneath.
- I remember the fashionable sneakers we wore; the Dee Brown Reebock Pumps, Air Jordan's, and Air Max Barkley's.
- I remember going to the locker room early to take a pre-game shower and and bathroom break. I think I was under the impression that the shower would loosen up my muscles and the bathroom break would make me a little lighter on my feet.
- I remember beating Rochester H.S. at Memorial Auditorium my Senior Year. They were one of the top teams in Div IV that year and we had gotten smoked by them the year before by about 30 points. Jason Smith and Scott Guiel set the tempo with some early 3's. I recall only having about 7pts, but will never forget a half court bounce pass I made to Ryan Vander Walker to assist on 2 of his game high 26 points.
- I remember playing with Josh Fleming when he scored his 1000th H.S. point. A tremendous feat for a great ball player.
- I remember LOSING to Christian Heritage my Jr. year. It was the first time we lost to them after dominating them the previous 3 years. The girls team made sure we didn't forget about it for the 3 hour ride back to Trinity. That was the longest bus ride back to school I can remember.
- I remember being apart of the team that won the Wilmington tournament my sophmore year. We knocked off Whitingham and Websterville to take home the trophy. I still have the clip from the newspaper "Christians 2 - Heathens 0"
- I remember taking the ball out on a out of bounds play versus Cabot with 5 seconds left. I threw the ball the length of the court but out of bounds letting Cabot get the ball under our hoop with the game tied. I guarded the player inbounding the ball and he passed it to his teammate for a layup and we lost the game by two.
- I remember trying out and making the North/South All-Star team. I was fortunate enough to play with some of the best Seniors in Div III and IV. I also realized for 4 years I was a big fish in a little pond.
-I remember playing Mountainside Christian Academy at home without Matt Vander Walker. He had gotten into a erious car accident. I remember teammates praying in the locker room for his well being before the start of the game. I think we all realized sports were not the most important thing in life at that moment.
I loved playing Trinity sports whether it was cross country, soccer, basketball, touch football during PE, or even softball against Pine Ridge. Playing for a school with Christian teammates is something I won't forget. For all the games I played in four years i don't remember too many scores or how many points I had but I do remember the moments shared with teammates, coaches, and fans.
-John A Buzeman
Holding hands on the bus.....I was always a bit jealous of the guys that could hold hands with the girl in front of them by squeezing their hand/arm between the side of the seat and wall of the bus. My fat farm boy fingers and hands could never squeeze in between...Although that probably prevented me from getting 10 demerits.
