from the YOUNG Vanderwarker, Lucas

There seems to be a whole lot of perspective from a lot of "old guys" and not so much from any less than old guys. So here's my attempt:
I remember Jamie scoring his 1000 pt....i think i may have been in 2nd or 3rd grade :)
I remember my first varsity basket ever...a "pull up" jumper from the free throw line against Claremont @ Memorial Aud. I remember feeling like there was an earthquake after it went in b/c the place erupted...probably in disbelief. the next play down the court, Jason Smith drove and then passed it to me and i drained a 3.
I remember going through the humiliation of losing to Websterville 94-26. I was a sophomore and we started me and 4 freshman against Eric Enright (sp?) who was a senior every year.
I remember going to the Hartford Tournament in 8th grade and having to do the book for the championship game...which is when Ryan stole the ball with us down by 1 or 2 and then called a timeout with none left (sorry ry...couldn't leave that one out).
I remember losing to Union Baptist after Andy Roy inexplicably fouled on a 3 point attempt at the buzzer with us up by 2...the guy made all 3 free throws for the win. I think I scored 25 in a losing effort.
I remember Tim Frizzell being close-lined on a drive down the baseline by a guy from Calvary in Plymouth and there was no call.
I remember Scott Guiel always telling me to shoot within my range....and I would tell him that one day I would break his record for 3 pters in a season....I'm still working on that one
I remember Coach Helder and Nathan Pinkham going through the drive thru at McDonalds while the rest of us stood in line.
There are so many more great memories of Trinity sports...that's a start at least.

Lucas, those are GREAT. Thank you. I too remember Jamie scoring his 1,000th at the ARMORY with wood backboards and bent rims. *Jamie wasn't lying when he stated he hated the game being stopped for the moment. I think it was his 4th hoop that camp in the 1st quarter ... Fortunately we won that game.

My first varsity points came in the 8th grade vs. Craftsbury at the S. Burlington high school. I made my first foul shot and missed the second ... J. Full; the original #22
