From Scottie Guiel

I appreciate Buze bringing up that game against Heritage. Thanks for reminding me that I missed the first of two FT to allow them to win by one point. We did come back and throttle them the next time we played them though. It does bring a small amount of satisfaction knowing they were ...

I also would like to take this time to point out that Buze' senior year would have been nothing without me. Who else would he have been able to run "air Force" with?

The rumor has been going around that Andy Roy was a great player when he got older. My question is this...did he continue to make it a practice of fouling an opponent on a 3/4 court shot at the buzzer when we're up by 1 or 2? Was that just a special play he busted out in 8h grade?

I remember Ryan V. thinking it would be funny to rack me just before a game at Austine. It became my first career triple double.

I remember scoring my very first basket in 8th grade during the last two minutes of a game we played in Stowe H.S.'s gym. I was so nervous I accidentally banked it in.

I remember several trips to the Wilmington Invitational at the start of each season. The famous headline of Christians-2 Heathens-0. The hideous cheerleaders. The home-made sign that said "we shoots deers and hoops." The greasy pizza joint next to the hotel we stayed in. The foul gas that soon followed.

I remember Buze' eyes getting as big as a hubcap when he first realized the rims at Cabot weren't 10 feet.

I remember Ryan V's consistent baseline jumper.

I remember Tim F. running all around the court patting himself on the head calling for an iso.

I remember hating Websterville.

I remember changing for our game and hearing the girls teams running back and forth above us like a herd of buffalo.

I remember the Jon Stertzbach mellowdrama of "will I or won't I play this year?"

I remember that Ryan V's ability to make a layup was inversly proportional to the sweetness of my no-look pass.

I remember when Aaron (last name slips me for some reason) packed an opponent so well he threw the ball and player to the ground. This was my Sr. year at the tourney in Methuen, MA.

I remember playing with Matt Peacock and his ugly jumpshot not realizing he only had a few years left on this earth.

I remember being jealous of Scott Guiel's rugged good looks. Wait, who wrote that? Buze, are you hacking into my account?

Scottie you were always the one with the rugged looks. My baby face couldn't grow stubble till I turned 21.
"Air Force" I think this one one of the plays I schemed up when I wasn't able to hold hands with anyone on the bus. The play started out in "Force" formation only to have me go back door for a alley-oop from Scott. I think the few times we did try it I either ran into some player or the pass bounced off the back board.
I still have the black cut-off "Air Booz" t-shirt you gave me my senior year.
Don't be so hard on yourself about the Christian Heritage game we lost. I missed a short catch and shoot jumper as the time ran out. I can still remember you streaking down the other side of the lane trying to tip it in as the buzzer sounded.
Aaron Gavin was the Dikembe Mutombo of Trinity his senior year. "Not in my house!"
Good times Scottie.
